Meet the Team

  • Meet Jazmin Montero, the creative force behind The Village Co-Op. Pronounced Haz-Mean, Jazmin, a first-generation immigrant from Costa Rica, seamlessly blends her tech background with her artistic spirit. Armed with a degree in UX design & research, she skillfully combines her knack for research, genuine connection, and creative thinking to weave a village that honors individuals while embracing the demands of modern-day life.

Jazmin's homeschooling journey began when she pulled her oldest son from traditional schooling, recognizing the need for a more supportive and connected educational environment. Initially exploring the idea of an app for new parents through her research, she discovered that parents were sincerely longing for a village extends beyond educational resources & being on a screen— they were needing genuine connection, community, being seen, and finding healing. She too felt that longing when she was postpartum and again when she started her homeschooling journey. Which inspired her to build The Village.

Now, a year later, The Village has grown beyond a small co-op, serving over 200 families with a flourishing microschool, dedicated parent support, and vibrant community events. Jazmin's journey, from her research findings to founding The Village, has beautifully materialized into a living, breathing community—a true village. In this unique environment, she believes in giving children autonomy, providing a space for creative self-expression, and fostering an environment where the wonder of wisdom is discovered beyond the confines of traditional schooling.

In addition to supporting children, Jazmin is dedicated to supporting parents. The uniqueness of The Village lies in its holistic approach, catering to the whole family. Join her in building a community that celebrates the wonder of childhood and supports families on their unique journey.
